Sand Polished Steel Buckles

Sand polished steel buckles appeared as early as 1939 but saw widespread use throughout the war.  This particular version is in near un-issued condition with a very prominent National Business Number (Reichs Betreibs Nummer-RBNr.) on the end.  The "RBNr." was utilized on all chinstraps beginning 1942.  Some collectors would dismiss this chinstrap as a reproduction simply based on its near mint condition.  However the chinstrap is authentic even though it was never issued.
