This Luftwaffe M1935 helmet was captured by a Virginia, USA Army veteran who served with the 10th Mountain Division.  The helmet was acquired in Italy in 1944.  The helmet is a large 68cm shell with three color paint and rough texture finish showing extensive combat wear.  This helmet was an early issue double decal Luftwaffe helmet issued, worn, and repainted several times during the war.  The helmet was acquired along with several other wartime captured German items including a water bottle, bread bag, and other souvenirs.
