Deutsches Arbeitsfront:  German Labor Front Photos

The photo above is one of the only known pictures of German Labor Front (Deutsches Arbeitsfront-DAF) members wearing combat helmets.  In most cases, paramilitary organizations were typically not authorized to wear military helmets of any kind.  This photo clearly illustrates that members of nonmilitary organizations, like the German Labor Front, were sometimes able to access military equipment when needed.  Speculation holds that these men were working in the capacity of ad-hoc Factory Protection Police in conjunction with local Order Police (Ordnungspolizei) as shown in the photo.  Further information is unavailable at this time.
