    M1934 Fireman's Helmet

The helmet shown below is an early model M1934 fireman's helmet with insignia of the style instituted on 10 July 1934.  The helmet features a smooth satin black finish and two decals.  An aluminum comb is fitted on the crown of the helmet and was designed to provide protection from falling objects.  This helmet features the very large "salt and pepper shaker" style air vents that protrude from the side of the helmet.  Five rivets hold the civilian style liner in place.
