| M1935 Single Decal Kriegsmarine Helmet |
|
This M1935 single decal helmet was captured in Le Havre, France in 1944 by Technical Sergeant Philip Schumacher who was assigned to the European Theatre of Operations Transport Headquarters unit. The helmet was selected as a souvenir from a group of captured German equipment. The helmet features the typical field green textured surface found on most Wehrmacht helmets produced between 1940 and 1941. The single naval decal retains its full golden color. Of common interest is the fact that like many Kriegsmarine helmets, this example also bears a classic field adapted chinstrap with a roller buckle. A large majority of naval helmets retain nonstandard chinstraps which is a hallmark characteristic of their authenticy. |
