    Landespolizeigruppe Göring Helmet

The helmet shown is an example of the last configuration of Landespolizeigruppe Göring helmet worn beginning 11 July 1934 through 28 July 1938.  This helmet is a typical Austrian pattern commercially produced example that was commonly issued to Luftschutz, Heer, Polizei, and Factory Guard workers.  These helmets were manufactured in the 1930's and followed the typical World War I patterned "trench helmet" design.  This helmet bears the original smooth "apple green" finish and two decals consisting of the large white mobile swastika and the standard national shield insignia.  Both decal insignia were produced as water slide transfers.  The helmet has the name of the original policeman who once wore the helmet inscribed in ink on the leather liner.
