Landespolizeigruppe "General Göring" Helmets

Helmet Description

Members of the State Police Group General Göring (Landes-polizeigruppe General Göring) utilized a combination of German and Austrian World War I pattern helmets. These helmets were typically finished in a satin field green color bearing two insignia. The evolution of the insignia took place over several years with the first being the Prussian State shield on the right and a large white swastika on the left. This combination was worn beginning 22 December 1933 until 23 April 1934. This combination was then reversed beginning 24 April 1934 through 10 July 1934. A final change took place on 11 July 1934 when the Prussian shield was replaced with the National tricolored shield in black, white, and red. This combination was worn through 28 July 1936.
