The helmet shown below represents the standard M1940 model Luftwaffe helmet with textured finish and single decal.  This particular example shows a decal that has age toned to a golden yellow or tan color as a result of age.  This is due to the aging process of the lacquer which was applied onto the decal at the factory.  Single decal Luftwaffe helmets are perhaps the most numerous of all German helmets and many were obtained as war souvenirs at the end of World War II.
