Police M1935 Double Decal Combat Helmet

This exceptionally nice M1935 police helmet bears the early manufacturing marks of the "NS" or Schwerte firm.  The helmet was manufactured in 1938 and bears the "dome stamp" indicating it was one of many helmets inspected for quality by the Procurement Office of the Army and Navy.  The helmet has factory applied "NS" style decals of which the National Socialist Party shield is the same as would be found on a Waffen-SS helmets that applied the "C.A Pocher" made decals.  The liner retaining rivets exhibit a light "pea green" color which was common to helmets manufactured by this firm (and many others) at this early pre-war time period.  The explanation for the difference in color is the fact that liner retaining rivets were manufactured and painted by private firms prior to being shipped to the helmet factories where they were used during helmet assembly.  This helmet was acquired from a private estate in Kansas City, MO (USA).
