Deutsche Polizei (German Police) Parade Helmet

This commercially produced M1934 steel Medium Duty helmet was worn by high ranking officers of the German Police (Deutsche Polizei).  The helmet features a smooth satin finished field green inside and out with a cork and leather liner.  The helmet has two "salt and pepper shaker" air vents on both sides.  The Police eagle insignia is the "first pattern" type bearing no silver border.  The National Socialist Party decal is the "Pocher" type so named after its manufacturer.  Helmets of this kind were occasionally issued to both the German Army (Heer) and the Schutzstaffeln.
