Wehrmachtsgefolge:  Reichsarbeitsdienst - National Labor Service Helmet

This Reichsarbeitsdeinst (RAD) helmet has two insignia bearing testimony to the sometimes inconsistent application of decals by RAD members.  The insignia consists of the RAD eagle insignia on the left side of the helmet and the National tricolored shield on the right.  The helmet has an almost smooth olive-brown color not normally seen on standard combat helmets.  Period photographs exist which clearly show the M1942 helmet being worn with insignia by RAD members.
