    Reichsarbeitsdienst:  National Labor Service Period Photos

This unique and candid photograph shows National Labor Service (Reichsarbeitsdienst-RAD) members celebrating a special occasion.  Each young man wears a standard model M1942 or M1940 pattern combat helmet in field-gray green.  Clearly visible on some helmets is the RAD decal insignia.  Photo enhanced selections of a few members shown can be seen in the section entitled "RAD Period Photos."
