Reichsarbeitsdienst:  National Labor Service Period Photos

An enhanced photo cut from a previously displayed group photograph shows a National Labor Service (Reichsarbeitsdienst-RAD) member wearing a double decal M1942 helmet.  Based on analysis of the negative for this photograph it was established that the dark area on the left side of the helmet (as seen by the viewer) is in fact an RAD decal.  The dark image on the right side is also an RAD decal as confirmed by the presence of other helmets of the same configuration being worn in the larger group photo.  This photograph bears evidence to the existence of double decal RAD helmets in the M1942 model.  The actual date of the photo is unknown, but clearly established as after 1942.
