This photo showing a formation of RAD men clearly illustrates the use of the standard German Army (Heer) helmet with single decal insignia.  These helmets are most likely pulled directly from Wehrmacht supply stores without modification.  The photo demonstrates that many RAD units simply wore standard issue helmets without RAD insignia.
