The rare M1940 double decal Waffen-SS helmet was factory produced for a very short period until regulations called for the removal of the National Socialist Party decal.  Factories produced the helmet which was issued and worn by all Waffen-SS units including those serving at the front.  Period photos show the M1940 in service even after the mandate to remove the Party shield decal was issued.  It is probable that only a few thousand of these helmets were produced making them extremely desirable by today's collectors.
