    SS-Verfügungstruppe (SS Special Detatchments) Photos

Members of an SS Special Detachment unit (SS-Verfügungstruppe or SS-VT) gather in a town square to discuss the day's events.  The men in the center of the photo wear field-gray uniform tunics of the SS-VT. Their helmets appear to be painted field-gray.  While difficult to ascertain from this photo, it appears that some of the men wearing black uniforms also wear a combination of field-gray and black painted helmets.  This photo was taken on 30 January 1938.  Most of the helmets worn are from World War I.
