The photo
above illustrates the final
stage of production after the helmet is completely assembled. As
seen in this photograph, each helmet is wrapped in paper and then stacked
in large piles. In the background of this photo can be seen a large
quantity of helmets ready for shipment to a storage facility. These
helmets would normally be transported to an area within the factory where
they would be placed in wooden crates and shipped to both military and
factory warehouses. Once the helmets arrived at their storage
location, the would be once again taken out of their wooden crates
and stacked in large piles as shown in this photo. Their paper
covers were normally removed at this time as well. The women at the
left of the photo appears to be applying a decal or is perhaps painting
the decal with its protective coat of lacquer. Her workstation is
most likely at another location in this room and the photo staged to
include this portion of the assembly process. The tilted
black-white-red national decal is clearly seen on each of the three
helmets stacked on the table's right side. |
