 Finding Your Helmet Size:

If you are a WWII living history reenactor it is important that you find a helmet shell size that will fit your head.  Incorrectly fitting helmets generally have the appearance of looking too small on a person's head.  For this reason it is absolutely essential that you use the size chart below to determine which helmet shell you need for proper fit.  Wartime German helmet shells come in five different shell sizes of which only one or two liner sizes will fit.  Postwar helmet liners and postwar West German helmets use a different sizing method.  Therefore please use the chart below to find your matching head size and to make the conversion from US measurements to European head size equivalents.  All helmets restored are done in European head sizes and wartime standards.  Stahlhelm-Werke is not responsible for improper measurements supplied for a helmet restoration! 

How to Measure Your Head Size:

Place a tape measure around your head. Your measurement in inches or centimeters is converted into the proper hat size.  Your hat size will determine which helmet liner and shell size is needed for your restoration.  Size 68 cm helmet shells are scarce and command higher prices in your restoration pricing.  A completely restored helmet with a 60 cm, 62,cm, 64 cm, or 66 cm helmet shell will cost approximately $245.  The same helmet in a 68 cm shell will cost approximately $345 do to the scarcity of the extra large helmet shell.
