NOW restoring WWI helmets!

Stahlhelm-Werke is now accepting restoration inquiries for WWI German model M1916 through M1918 helmets.  Although available shells are at a premium, Stahlhelm-Werke has restored a number of shells supplied directly by customers.  These consist of full restorations including period liners, chinstraps, and hand painted and aged camouflaged trench warfare schemes.  If you supply your shell for restoration, please indicate the size of your shell so that a proper three pad leather liner can be manufactured to fit the shell correctly.  The following prices apply to WWI helmet shell restorations when customers supply their own shell for refinishing.  All prices noted below INCLUDE postage in the US!

  • $225 for complete restoration in basic field gray finish (no camouflage).

  • $250 for a complete restoration in basic field gray with hand painted and aged turtle shell camouflage finish.

Restorations include chinstrap, leather M1916 model three pad liner with felt pillows, three proper split rivets, and unique hand painted camouflage.
