Members
of the Technical Emergency Corps (Technische Nothilfe)
were generally issued light weight helmets of the kind
normally associated with regular police units.
This included the typical M1934 curved and square dipped
civic police model helmets as well as the M1934 medium
duty helmet. The M1934 medium duty helmet was
identical to that normally used by the German Red Cross,
the SS Security Police, and on occasion by officers and
NCO's of the German Army. The M1934 medium duty
and M1934 light weight helmets were generally issued in
light field gray color with typical civilian liner
systems and chinstraps. The M1934 medium duty
helmets were usually issued without insignia, although
some helmets of this type were probably given decal
insignia dependent on their use. The light weight
M1934 style helmets were often painted a medium gray
color. These helmets were decorated with decals
consisting of the TeNo insignia and National tricolored
shield. In some cases only the TeNo decal was
applied to these helmets. It is also possible that
other helmet styles were used by TeNo members.
Speculation holds that beaded model M1935, M1940, and
M1942 helmets may also have been utilized. It has
also been established that variant pattern helmets were
used by TeNo units as depicted below.
